Heritage, History, Culture - Experience
J. B. Davies Engineers and Surveyors was founded in 1953 as Brown & Davies. Prior to that, James B. Davies Sr., a well known Fort Worth Architect put his mark on the city by designing a number of the leading structures. This background image is from the facade of the Western Union Building (circa 1931) located downtown at the corner of Main and 3rd Street. Today one can see the Architect's name, J. B. Davies, engraved on the street corner column facing Main. There are a number of landmark buildings around the Fort Worth Area that were design by James B. Davies Sr. Architect. In keeping with its heritage, the current offices of J. B. Davies Engineers and Surveyors are located in the old Martha Washington Candy Company on Magnolia Avenue (see picture bottom right).

Western Union Building (1930-1931)- NW Corner of Main and 3rd
"James B. Davies, Sr.'s design for the colorful three-story building (Western Union Telegraph Building) incorporates exterior decorations of terra cotta in stylized polychrome panels and courses of zigzag banding. Vertical sunken windows panels terminate at the roofline in a sharp-edged, stepped parapet enhanced with angular chevron motifs. At street level, there is a smooth, dark greenish gray stone border under display windows on both the Main Street and Third Street façades. Ziggurat shapes of dark greenish gray stone are set into the shaded orange brick at intervals along this dark border."
The above excerpt was taken from Cowtown Moderne, by Judith Sinder Cohen. The bracketed text was added for clarity.

Applied Geographic Technologies
Applied Geographic Technologies (AGT), a dba of J. B. Davies Inc., has provided Engineering services since 1994. AGT specializes in hydraulic modeling for sanitary sewer systems and associated collection systems services. AGT has performed Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Studies (SSES) in Texas as well as Mexico. JBD field surveying experience allows AGT to provide ground-up model building. Whether the data is obtained from field survey, record drawing research, CAD atlas maps, or legacy models, you can be confident that the hydraulic model developed by AGT will accurately predict the performance of your network. These models then become a valuable tool for Master Planning, design analysis and prioritization of improvements and preventative maintenance tasks.
